Peltier Elements are designed for cooling or heating. Applying a DC voltage across the device causes one face to get colder and the other face to heat up as heat is transferred across the device. The elements are available in different sizes and cooling powers.
Alternatively, if you warm one side and keep the other side cool you will generate electricity.
