Peltier Elements are designed for cooling or heating. Applying a DC voltage across the device causes one face to get colder and the other face to heat up as heat is transferred across the device. The elements are available in different sizes and cooling powers.
Alternatively, if you warm one side and keep the other side cool you will generate electricity.
(Check that the voltage and current required are suitable for your requirements. The figures quoted are for the device when used as a cooling unit. When used for electricity generation (Seebeck effect) the voltage and current are much less and depend on the impedance of the circuit to which you have attached the device.)
